Forensic Due Diligence

A technology-driven cab aggregator in Asia was seeking private equity (PE) investment to expand its market presence. To achieve better market penetration, the company provided various incentives to its drivers.

On behalf of the PE firm, a thorough analysis of ride data was performed. Utilising data analytics, millions of transaction records were examined, and nine different types of analyses were conducted to identify fraudulent drivers and their corresponding transactions.

As a result, 10% of the transactions were found to be fraudulent, which led to an adjustment in the company's final valuation. This ultimately resulted in the PE firm investing approximately $500 million in the company.

Developed a robust business case for change, outlining a prioritised roadmap of initiatives. Identified commercial opportunities across existing portfolio enhancement, cost optimisation, new value pools entry and multi-brands expansion, providing contribution margin uplift of 35-55% in the short to medium term.

A robust aerospace and defense company with a global presence sought to address industry challenges proactively.

Developed a tailored cash management system to improve visibility and control over inventory, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. This approach focused on maximising working capital efficiency.

Unleashed a $5 billion cash opportunity through strategic initiatives, including a dedicated $1 billion inventory optimisation project. Realised $1.5 billion in cash benefits within the first nine months.

Unlocking Cash for Dividends

A manufacturing company found itself with a third of its cash tied up in working capital, making it challenging to pay dividends to shareholders. With limited visibility into the drivers of working capital performance, identifying gaps in payments and cash-saving opportunities was proving difficult.

Developed a performance reporting solution featuring custom dashboards. This solution covered critical components such as order-to-cash, procure-to-payment processes, and inventory data with 14 different formats.

The company successfully released 5% of its cash balance from working capital, improving collection efforts for late payers before year-end.
